K2 Snowboard reviews from Users Online
short answer yes, K2 makes good boards. But there is more to the story. Make sure you have a good idea on what kind of riding you will be doing. When you buy your own board, you are stuck with it, so you want to make sure you have a board that will help you learn and function for the type of riding you will want to do. A freestyle K2 isnt going to be worth your money if you want to ride powder on the mountain.
In my opinion, you cant go wrong with Rome, Ride, Burton, and Gnu.

Yes, a K2 snowboard would be worth your money. The first board I ever purchased was a K2, and although I don't currently have one in my quiver of decks, I'll probably be getting another one before the end of this season.
If you're at that point where you enjoy riding and renting is no longer cost-effective (and you want a K2), I'd recommend the K2 Format. The Format is K2's beginner-intermediate all-mountain board. It has good pop and should be a lot of fun for you as you progress. You'd even be alright on this board in the terrain park.
If you're still not confident with K2, the new Burton Deuce would be comparable to the K2 Format.

I have a K2 Elixer. It's a few years old and I like it. I've had no problems with ground tricks, trees, kickers, pow, etc. but it is a guys board so it is heavier and shaped differently than the girls boards. I have just bought a girls board which is also a K2 and I am interested to see if my boarding improves because it is a board that is more in tune with my body size and shape plus the board I just bought has more pop than my original board so when I hit the park later on in the season I'm hoping that it will give me a bit of an advantage.
If you could trial some boards in your area I would recommend that but I know that isn't always possible.
